Bells is located at the crossroads of US 69 and State Highway 56 just south of US 82 in Grayson County, Texas. The population was 1,392 at the 2010 census. Bells is part of the Sherman-Denison Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Boil Water Rescinded Notice
On June 7, 2016 the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required our public water system City of Bells, PWS ID 0910001 to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform our customers that due to the presence of contaminates or an interruption in service, water from our system must be boiled prior to consumption.
Our system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and /or bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling as of June 9, 2016 at 3:30 p.m.

NOTICE OF WATER SHUT-OFF
This is to notify the Citizens of Bells that on June 6th or 7th (depending on the weather of what day it will start) that the water in the following areas will be turned off for repair.
Surrounding areas of Hwy 56/69 intersection to North of Bells Schools could possibly will have their water turned off while the contractor repairs the line behind the Exxon Gas Station.
The duration of the repair should last from 8 AM to 5 PM. If the repairs have lasted longer than the posted time, please check back on this website at or watch local news broadcast for more information.

Open Position: Water/Sewer Maintenance
The City of Bells is accepting applications for 1 full-time employment position(s). The purpose of this position is to perform duties associated with the operations of the Water/Wastewater Dept. of Public Works, such as, water leak repairs and water/sewer system maintenance.
This position will also provide additional support for street repairs, maintenance and construction, as well as various other duties outside. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
